摘要
Coal, a crucial finite resource responsible for nearly half of the global electricity generation, is obtained via mining activities. Nevertheless, coal mining gives rise to substantial safety risks for individuals. Mining sites are confronted with challenges, such as the existence of combustible gases like methane. Unintentional ignition of these gases leads to catastrophic mine explosions, resulting in fatalities and severe injuries. To address these difficulties, this initiative uses Internet of Things (IoT) for conceiving an all-encompassing oversight mechanism that perpetually oversees critical variables. These variables comprise levels of methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2), alongside indicators such as temperature, humidity, and soil dampness within coal mines. The proposed IoT-based safety system presents a multifaceted approach to enhance human safety in coal mines. By leveraging real-time data collection and analysis, the system can promptly identify dangerous gas levels or adverse environmental conditions. Consequently, the system will issue timely alerts and notifications to workers and supervisors, enabling swift responses and evacuation procedures in the event of escalating danger. By providing comprehensive insights into the mining environment, the system contributes to a safer working environment and a significant reduction in the occurrence of accidents.
