摘要
In this arti cle, Andrea Dyrness, Jackquelin Bristol, and Dan iel Garz & oacute;n explore how cul tural mentoring with ele men tary stu dents was enacted by under grad u ate and grad uate students from minoritized backgrounds attending a predominantly white uni ver sity. They exam ine how these men tors engaged with a frame work of com mu nity cultural wealth and bor der lands pedagogies of acompa & ntilde;amiento in their inter ac tions with their mentees and in their own and collec tive reflec tions. Using tes ti mo nies and eth no graphic data, the authors illus trate par tic i pants' mutual engage ment in the ongo ing strug gle to make sense of and con front struc tural injus tice and argue that acompa & ntilde;amiento illuminates the reciprocal, transformative relationships between uni ver sity and ele men tary stu dents of color in the shared pro cess of develop ing their critical consciousness.
