摘要：
Centaurea karajensis Negaresh, a new species of C. sect. Ammocyanus from the Alborz Province of N Iran, is described and illustrated. Diagnostic morphological characters of this and closely related taxa are presented and discussed. The geographic distribution of the new species and closely related species is also presented. In addition, a taxonomic key to the species of C. sect. Ammocyanus in Iran is provided. Finally, C. ammocyanus is lectotypified.
