摘要
If a bipolar excitation voltage is characterized by a high voltage, a high frequency, a suitable width, a necessary idle time, and a suppressed oscillation, it is conducive to improving the efficiency of a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) lamp. Unfortunately, this form of excitation voltage is difficult to generate for a DBD lamp in the existing power supplies. To address this issue, a new high-voltage high-frequency converter for a DBD lamp is proposed. The high-frequency bipolar pulse excitation voltage is achieved with two symmetrical resonant circuits. The width of the pulse can be adjusted by changing the value of the resonant capacitance. The duration of the idle time can be altered by changing the operating frequency or the value of the resonant capacitances. The oscillation of the excitation voltage can be suppressed effectively by the unidirectional conductivity of the diodes. Besides the above-mentioned characteristics, the proposed converter possesses the advantages of simple structure and convenient control. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed converter is verified with an experimental prototype.
