摘要
This study analyses residents' support for holiday rentals within the framework of the Social Exchange Theory and Emotional Solidarity Theory. We propose an integrated conceptual model to evaluate how perceptions of positive and negative impacts, along with emotional solidarity among residents and tourists, as well as residents and hosts, affect support for holiday rentals. The study is based on a survey of 2,045 residents of Tenerife, Majorca and Alicante, applying PLS-SEM for data analysis. The results emphasise that emotional solidarity with tourists and hosts significantly influences perception of the impacts of the activity, showing how emotional ties can enhance support or rejection of tourism activities. This novel approach ponders important implications for managing tourist destinations and maintaining harmony in communities with holiday rental activity.
