摘要
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a remarkable technological advancement in the modern world since it is automating and simplifying many tasks. Some elderly adults have trouble communicating with their family members at home. A means of communication is required in such situations so that people can express themselves. This paper introduces the concept of IoT-based Smart Gloves (IoTSG), a kind of assistive technology designed for patients and individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. In order to assess the efficacy of the suggested scheme, it is cross-validated with the traditional Bluetooth based method known as Bluetooth Assisted Smart Gloves (BSG). A large portion of the global population is deaf or hard of hearing. Deaf and hearing persons can communicate visually. Since communication is essential to human existence, this leaves very little space for them. Even though deaf individuals use a manual-visual language called sign language, those who are blind may communicate freely with regular English. The world's deaf population uses sign language, a non-verbal mode of communication. The languages are problematic for translation since they do not have a common ancestor. With the use of a glove-based communication interpretation system, the initiative intends to make people's lives easier. Inside the glove, you'll find five flex sensors. The flex sensor causes the microcontroller and remote IoT server software to undergo proportionate changes for every individual gesture. The input signal is compared to a set of predetermined findings that are kept in memory. Using the information stored in memory, the speaker then produces the necessary sound. Deaf and dumb individuals can converse with hearing people in this manner.
