摘要
Introduction: This document offers an approach to the primary challenges and vulnerabilities of liberal globalization, stemming from the tensions generated by China's growing influence in strategic sectors and the relative decoupling process undertaken by Western powers. Objective: The objective is to understand how and why global supply chains, particularly those related to semiconductors, have emerged as the new geopolitical battleground between Western powers and China. Methodology: The analysis is based on a systematic review of various sources that address the current risks facing global supply chains for the development of key technologies in the competition between major powers. Conclusions: The article concludes that the geopolitics of global supply chains and the securitization of China reveal an exhausted economic globalization system undergoing transformation, which no longer appears to serve the interests of Western powers.
