摘要
We propose a service directory management scheme for predominantly ad hoc access-networks placed within a large-scale Internet of Things scenario like SmartCity. The basic objective is to improve service availability and response-time keeping the overhead of directory management within acceptable limit. To reduce the search-latency, we construct functional-context networks for each application-domain dynamically depending on service usage pattern of the nodes and confine our search within the specific context-network with high probability. Further, to reduce the communication latency, the service-information are placed at the sets of most central nodes within the specific functional-context networks to which the services belong. Within the context-networks, the service-information are placed in sets of most accessible nodes in a manner that the search efficiency is logarithmic. The arrangement assures simultaneous reduction of search and communication latency and hence offers better performance in terms of availability and response-time.
