The ideology of data: algorithms and artificial intelligence in the capitalism of the digital age

摘要
Belief, trust and inevitability are the values worshiped by the so-called "dataism", a fundamental ideological component for the legitimization of informational practices driven by the economic interests of big tech corporations. Although part of the mainstream literature on new media recognizes dataism as a form of ideology, there is a lack of dialogue between popular authors such as Van Dijck and Zuboff with the writings of Marx, Engels and 20th century Marxists who focused on the subject. The objective of this article is to build a theoretical-conceptual bridge between these digital media studies and Marxist critical fortune, in order to propose a critique of the political economy of information based on the concept of ideology.
