摘要：
Using cryo-EM and biochemical methods, Su and Vos 1 discover an alternative NELF structural state that enables transcription and switches NELF-RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) compatibility with other RNAPII-associated factors that regulate pausing, elongation, termination, and transcription -coupled DNA repair.
