摘要
We live in a time when energy prices in general have stabilized, but they are incomparably higher than a few years ago. In terms of household energy costs, the largest items are the energy needed for heating and hot water. If a person lives in a family home, he or she has a relatively free choice as to which primary energy source to use for these purposes. However, the situation is different if we live in apartment buildings, which historically are in most cases connected to the system of the district heat supply (DHS). In this case, our options are limited in many respects. This article describes what led the residents of one particular apartment building 7 years ago to decide to disconnect from the district heat supply and choose a different heat source. At the same time, this article provides a more comprehensive view of this issue in terms of legislation, technical feasibility and the payback period (PBP) of the investment in the Czech Republic.
