摘要
Roller-compacted concrete (RCC) is a common material in Road pavements. It has many advantages, but repairing and maintaining it can be challenging. Self-healing can offer a suitable solution. In this study, glass tubes filled with epoxy resin (as a healing agent) were embedded in RCC during casting to enable self-healing properties. In this case, glass tubes break as the cracks form, and the healing agent releases into the crack void. It solidifies, permitting crack sealing and restoring fracture properties. The pure mode I (i.e., tensile) fracture properties were examined by employing a simple test specimen called edge notched disc bend (ENDB) subjected to the threepoint bending test. Subsequently, a Fracture-healing procedure was carried out to evaluate the specimens' fracture toughness recovery ratio and fracture energy recovery ratio. Additionally, the effect of adding different percentages of hollow and epoxy-filled glass tubes on the fracture properties of RCC was experimentally studied. It was found that the highest fracture energy recovery ratio, 94.83 %, occurred for RCC containing 5 % epoxy-filled glass tubes, and the highest fracture toughness recovery ratio, which was 98.54 %, occurred for RCC containing 10 % epoxyfilled glass tubes. Furthermore, it has been observed that the fracture initiation and propagation stages were considerably impacted by the concentration of glass tubes, both with and without epoxy resin. Moreover, compared to plain roller-compacted concrete, the glass tube-reinforced RCC exhibited more incredible fracture energy and fracture toughness values. The results of data analysis with one-way analysis variance showed that all the data obtained in this study are statistically significant considering the confidence factor of 95 %, so it can be said that the addition of glass tubes with and without epoxy resin has a significant effect on fracture and healing properties of the roller-compacted concrete.
