摘要
In today's digital era, digital competencies have become essential skills for training and professional performance in various disciplines, including the field of law. Objective. To conduct a comprehensive diagnosis of the digital competencies of students and professors of the Law degree program in two Ecuadorian universities, whose names are kept anonymous for confidentiality reasons. Design/Methodology. The research adopts a non -experimental quantitative approach, descriptive in nature and cross-sectional in scope, through a 27 -question online questionnaire containing the main digital competencies: technological, informational and communicative. Results. Significant differences were observed in the digital competencies between the two universities, suggesting the influence of the institutional context in the development of these skills, since they always showed a higher level of performance. Only minimal and deficient performance levels were obtained in all competencies in the students and teachers of the public university. Conclusion. The results highlight the need to integrate digital skills training more robustly into the legal curriculum. The legal professionals of the future will need to possess digital skills to meet the challenges of an increasingly technological legal world. Originality/Value. The results and conclusions obtained provide a solid foundation for future improvement and development efforts in this area.
