摘要
A novel method combining rotational extrusion with rapid solidification/powder metallurgy was developed to enhance the microstructure and properties of Al-Si-Fe alloys. This study conducted a comprehensive investigation into the phase composition, microstructure, and mechanical properties of the rotationally extruded Al-Si-Fe alloy. Experimental results confirmed the presence of alpha-Al, fl-Si, alpha-Al8Fe2Si, Al2FeSi, and Al2O3 phases within the alloy. The rotary extrusion technique significantly increased the density and reduced the porosity of the Al-Si-Fe alloy. The rotationally extruded alloy demonstrated considerably higher maximum microhardness and tensile strength (170 HV and 487 MPa, respectively) compared to the alloy produced by single forward extrusion. This study highlights how the superposition of deformation not only modifies the structure but also breaks the initial boundaries of the alloy powder particles, enhancing metallurgical bonding during subsequent sintering.
