摘要：

CTE is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by primary tauopathy with a pathognomonic deposit pattern in neurofibrillary tangles, neurites, and astrocytes surrounding small blood vessels at the sulcal depths of the cerebral cortex. It is only diagnosed conclusively by a neuropathological examination of brain tissue, creating a need to determine clinical symptoms to help with research and treatment. TES is a diagnostic term to help guide current CTE research. CTE neuropathology and neurobehavioral symptoms need additional research to determine whether TES represents a unique clinical syndrome of CTE to identify CTE in life for prevention and treatment.
