摘要：

Colorectal cancer is a common cancer in many parts of the world. Of interest, then, is a re-port in this issue of the Journal by Chung et al.,1who used a noninvasive assay of cell-free DNA (cf DNA) in plasma to screen for colorectal cancer in an average-risk population in the United States. The findings are also discussed in an editorial by Carethers.
