The policy of university education in Uruguayan prisons from the perspective of its students

This article is one of the products of a research project about student trajectories in incarceration in the University of the Republic. The information was gathered using a mixed-method approach, which included the application of a semi-closed form combined with workshops and interviews in the various prisons that make up the university circuit of Udelar. From this application, data on the perceptions of those who study at the university regarding their place in identity construction, teaching-learning strategies, and the policies deployed by the institution were obtained. This article addresses the perception of students about central university policy, particularly regarding teaching-learning strategies and institutional deployment in the territory. By "central," it refers to those policies that do not depend on the faculties but are promoted as policy for all people, regardless of the careers they choose to pursue at Udelar.
