摘要
Mentha species are commonly used in traditional medicine for their several pharmacological properties. They are also used as spice and are known for their bactericidal, antiviral and fungicidal properties. The objective of this study is to evaluate the antifungal activity of Mentha spicata essential oil, against fungal strains isolated from infested plants, namely Altarnaria citri, Fusarium solani and Fusarim oxysporum. The results obtained illustrate the inhibitory effect of Mentha spicata essential oil on the mycelial growth of fungal strains with inhibition rates ranging from 90% to 100%. The phytopathogen Fusarium solani turns out to be the most sensitive strain with an IC50 of around 8.70 mu L/L.
