Productivity of the Performativity and Performance Concepts for the Body and Communication Area in Latin America

This article explores the productivity of the concepts of performativity and performance in communication in Latin America, specifically in the area of " body and communication," which has gained momentum in the last decade and aroused particular interest regionally with the massification of feminisms and LGBTQI+ movements. We begin by reconstructing a genealogy of these concepts to account for the importance of the body in both and their potential for the referred area. This postdoctoral research has an autoethnographic methodology combining various analysis techniques and materialities. Within this approach, this paper mainly focuses on bibliographic analysis, systematizing milestones on the concepts concerned and assembling an updated corpus of recent readings on these topics. In conclusion, the notions discussed bring together fertile dimensions for addressing phenomena and problems relevant to body and communication.
