Determination, Identity and Essence in the Debate on Mental Causation

This article engages with Stephen Yablo's and Karen Bennett's theories on men tal causation. I argue that both approaches can be integrated into a unified theory, yet this theory leaves a central problem unresolved. My main thesis is that the discussed approach leads to a moderate causal parallelism. Finally, I provide some indications of how such an approach can be transformed into a robust position.
