摘要
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has been the cornerstone of modern wireless communication systems, including 4G LTE and Wi-Fi. However, with the advent of 5G and beyond, the limitations of OFDM become increasingly apparent, prompting the exploration of alternative modulation schemes. Generalized Frequency Division Multiplexing (GFDM) has emerged as a promising candidate due to its ability to overcome many of the drawbacks associated with OFDM. This project provides a comprehensive analysis of the advantages of GFDM over OFDM in next-generation communication systems. We highlight key differences between the two modulation schemes, including spectral efficiency, Bit Error Rate (BER) and Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR). Additionally, we discuss the more advantages of using GFDM with APSK modulation. Through simulations and theoretical analysis, we quantify the performance improvements achievable by GFDM with APSK modulation compared to OFDM. Our results show that GFDM offers significant gains in terms of spectral efficiency, resilience to interference, and flexibility in accommodating diverse communication requirements. Overall, this project underscores the potential of GFDM with APSK modulation as a viable alternative to OFDM in nextgeneration communication systems, paving the way for more efficient and reliable wireless networks in the 5G era and beyond.
