摘要
This article reviews the revisions and representations that fictional cinema has made of the political violence in Northern Ireland after the signing of the Good Friday Agreements in 1998 and the disappearance of the Provisional IRA, one of the main armed organizations active in the area during the period known as The Troubles. By analyzing a total of five cinematographic examples, the aim is to demonstrate that, once the political violence is over, a new scenario opens up in which it becomes necessary to revisit the historical narratives already created, to adapt them to the new reality or to construct new ones with previously ignored elements. It will be through this analysis that the current situation of the cinematographic narrative, its references, the attention it gives to each historical element, as well as the message it shows on the screens will be pointed out.
