摘要
The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor is a research project that is responsible for annually evaluating the entrepreneurial activity of different nations. Today, the study contains data collected from 115 countries, taken over more than 20 years. In the Latin American case, the project Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM)studies 20 countries in the region, representing about 82% of the region's population and 88% of its GDP (Babson College 2023). In view of the above, the following review article aims to study the research impact of the project in the Latin American context, analyzing around 79 articles collected from the Scopus database. To achieve this, a network and co-citation analysis of the selected articles was performed. The study found that research has decreased in recent years, as has the number of citations. Likewise, the total group of studies analyzed has four common thematic areas: entrepreneurship, business, and national investment; Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) Methodology and Theory; Gender Studies and Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM); and Economic development and business freedom. In conclusion, interest of the scientific community in the academic field has decreased in the last 8 years and the thematic areas of research are configured based on the socioeconomic realities of the regions studied.
