摘要
This paper explores the potential for virtual reality (VR) to foster empathy towards non-humans. It examines how VR's unique characteristics of immersion and embodiment foment empathy by allowing users to perceive and interact with virtual environments from a novel perspective. This is achieved by using virtual reality film technology to specifically create a chicken's eye perspective. Through the design and implementation of captivating narratives and display outputs, the project develops an immersive VR experience that is close to a reality from non-human perspective. Participants' levels of embodiment and empathy are evaluated using a Likert scale survey, yielding valuable information on emotional engagement. The conclusion of the paper examines the project's discussions, limitations, and future directions, highlighting the significance of virtual reality as a tool for cultivating empathy and understanding towards non-humans.
