Sustainable Al2O3 nanoparticles in catalytic pyrolysis: Unlocking high-yield bio-oil from Melia azedarach fruit biomass with comprehensive physicochemical analysis

摘要
The catalytic pyrolysis of Melia azedarach fruit biomass in the presence of aluminium oxide (Al2O3) nanoparticles was studied using a fixed bed reactor. Cost-effective and sustainable Al2O3 nanoparticles were employed as a catalyst in biomass pyrolysis and these nanoparticles were synthesized by using the extract of Phyllanthus emblica seeds as a reducing and capping agent. The confirmation of fabricated Al2O3 nanoparticles was analyzed by EDS, SEM and XRD characterization techniques. The potential effects of pyrolysis process parameters including catalyst dose, temperature and time were investigated. The optimized catalytic bio-oil was further characterized by FTIR spectroscopy. Moreover, physiochemical analyses were also performed to examine the bio-oil properties as fuel. This study demonstrates that catalytic bio-oil produced from Melia azedarach fruit biomass has the potential to be used as a substitute for fossil fuel for the generation of energy and industrial applications.
