摘要
Childhood and adolescence are particularly suitable times for preventing mental disorders. New preventive approaches are currently being developed as part of a wide range of efforts in clinics and science. Kindergartens, schools, and clinical care are implementing numerous programs and investigating their effectiveness. They aim to prevent risk factors for unfavorable developments, detect mental disorders as early as possible, and reduce negative effects. This special issue contributes to making these efforts visible by illustrating the broad spectrum of preventive work in our field. All these efforts aim to make prevention work successful and thus contribute to improving mental health through a joint and coordinated commitment of stakeholders in politics, the educational system, and healthcare and society as a whole.
