center dot Bacterial infections affecting the spine encompass a broad range of conditions, including spondylitis, discitis, spondylodiscitis, paravertebral and intramuscular abscesses, septic arthritis of facet joints, epidural abscess, subdural abscess, leptomeningitis, myelitis, and intramedullary abscess. center dot Viral infections in the spine can manifest as meningitis, myelitis, and radiculitis. In some cases, injury to the spinal cord and nerve roots may result from an immune-mediated inflammatory
