摘要：

The article aims to summarise the most important aspects and trends in the development of infrastructure and vehicles on modern railways. Infrastructure development, the necessary decarbonisation of transport, cost-effectiveness, but also the emerging digitalisation are just some of the main parameters that influence the appropriate choice of vehicles. The aim of this article is to put these main parameters in context and to highlight their crucial interdependence.
