Poetry slam in Portugal: post-colonial disputes

The purpose of this article is to discuss and analyze public posts on the social network Facebook that point to xenophobic opinions about the (i)migrant poetry slam scene in Portugal. These posts reflect post-colonial thoughts from a historically colonizing country that relies on the memory of a Lusotropical past and a Eurocentric present, where economic, racial and gender discrimination is still present. We will therefore look at poetry slam in Portugal in the light of postcolonial, identity and social disputes.
