摘要
A vortex is a region within a fluid where the flow is mostly a spinning motion about an imaginary axis, straight or curved. Dynamics of concentrated vortices in a swirling flow field is a complex problem of modern hydrodynamics which has many applications in engineering discipline. This paper presents some results of investigations related to the problem of studying the mechanisms of vorticity generation and the vortex structures in the prevailing swirling flow field. In this study a fundamental basis for analyzing the flow behavior in a cylindrical cyclone, starting from the basic principles of swirling flows in a confined environment was resolved. Numerical simulation of the three-dimensional flow in a cylindrical cyclone using Large Eddy Simulation (LES) technique has been executed to quantify the mechanistic behavior of vortex structures in swirling flow. The theme of this paper is to address the characteristic features of the internal vortex structure of a fluid stream prevailing at swirling flow inside a cylindrical cyclone.
