摘要
Understanding the link between crops and environmental stress is critical for creating resilient, high-yielding types. Genomic techniques provide a comprehensive understanding of a plant's genome, including physiological and biological processes, gene architecture, and functional annotations. Genome sequencing has allowed researchers to examine gene functions and architecture, as well as compare genomes using a variety of genomics approaches. Integrating genomics with other omics disciplines like metabolomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics enables a more comprehensive understanding of biological systems. Bioinformatics is crucial for analyzing and understanding large amounts of biological data generated by high-throughput techniques in omics-based research. The combination of genomics and other omics disciplines aids in the identification of regulatory genes and proteins involved in stress responses, as well as the elucidation of critical metabolic pathways for stress adaption. Researchers can unveil the complexity of abiotic stress tolerance in crops by using genomics methods, particularly those based on bioinformatics. These findings help to design stress-tolerant crops with higher yields, thereby tackling the issues faced by environmental stress in agriculture. (c) 2024 SAAB. Published by Elsevier B.V.
