摘要
In this study, a unique annular microstrip patch antenna with a slotted hexagonal patch for the Fifth Generation (5G) application at 3.5 GHz was designed and fabricated. The antenna had the features of being relatively low profile, lightweight, mechanically durable and low cost. In order to increase the bandwidth and gain, elliptical parasitic patches coplanar with the patch plane were utilized. However, simulation results revealed that the antenna without the parasitic patches had a superior performance. Performance parameters were return loss, radiation pattern, and gain, which were simulated by using Ansys HFSS. Finally, the designed microstrip patch antenna was fabricated.
