摘要
Introduction: Mastery of the English language has become a first-order necessity for independent professionals in their area of expertise. Achieving this depends on the educational work done in the educational pyramid, with emphasis on higher education. In this sense, the introduction of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, can contribute positively. Objective: Analyze the elements related to the acceptance and use of artificial intelligence for teaching the English language in university teachers. Methods: A basic, descriptive, field and transversal research was carried out in which the universe was made up of 47 university teachers in charge of teaching the English subject. The sample was finally made up of 43 teachers. Levels of acceptance and use of artificial intelligence as part of the teaching-learning process were estimated. Results: average age of 46.28 years, predominance of female teachers (60.46%), with work experience between 3 and 6 years (30.23%) and who have not received training on artificial intelligence (74.42%). Only 34.88% accept its use and of them only 4 (26.67%) use it in their daily teaching work. Conclusions: The level of acceptance and use of artificial intelligence is really low. Artificial intelligence provides advantages and facilitates the resolution of activities in which skills and abilities related to learning the English language are acquired and put into practice; It can be used as a methodological tool of the teaching-learning process.
