摘要
Long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) is a 99% effective contraceptive category; however, only 10.4% of women in the United States use LARCs. Women's preventative care and contraceptive services increasingly rely on primary care practices. Providers in primary care settings lack knowledge and training to provide LARC services. This brief report will provide results of implementing an evidence-based quality-improvement project for primary care providers (nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and physicians) educating on contraception prescribing and counseling, and hands-on LARC insertion/removal training sessions in the primary care setting to help patients make an informed choice about effective contraceptive methods.
