Modification Mechanism and Adhesive Performance of Waterborne Epoxy Resin-SBR Composite Modified Emulsified Asphalt

摘要
To deal with the lack of high temperature performance and adhesion performance of SBR modified emulsified asphalt used for preventive maintenance seal layer, WER/SBR composite modified emulsified asphalt is prepared by adding waterborne epoxy resin (WER) and curing agent with different admixture amounts into SBR modified emulsified asphalt. The formation mechanism of composite modified asphalt is analyzed by fluorescence microscopy and Fourier infrared spectrum. The adhesion between composite modified asphalt and aggregate is evaluated by adhesion test. Results show that the incorporation of waterborne epoxy resin causes physical and chemical changes of SBR modified emulsified asphalt and the phase structure of changes when the admixture amounts reaches 40%. At the same temperature, the increase of water-borne epoxy resin content improves the bond behavior of composite modified asphalt. The suggested percentage of admixture of waterborne epoxy resin in SBR modified emulsified asphalt is about 40%.
