Chronische entzundliche Erkrankungen - wie auch eine mikroskopische Colitis (MC) - gehen haufig mit einem erhohten Risiko fur schwere unerwunschte kardiovaskulare Ereignisse (MACE) einher. Da die Datenlage zur Haufigkeit von MACE in bevolkerungsbasierten histopathologischen Kohorten mit MC bis heute allerdings zu wunschen ubrig lasst, haben Forss et al. eine entsprechende Beobachtungsstudie zum Thema durchgefuhrt.
