摘要
Carlo Emilio Gadda speaks of Cervantes as << the greatest of European inventors >> and admits : << In general, I am fascinated by elegance, by old cultural maceration, by Spain, by Caravaggio's painting : by Spanish theologians and theological works, by thin and tall persons : I would rather be Don Quixote than Renzo Tramaglino >>. He recognizes himself as a part of the Spanish 'hidalguia' lineage in a way that refers exactly to the figure of Quixote. The paper aims to examine some textual contacts between Cervantes's masterpiece and Gadda's writings.
