Dante's Lexicon In The Unforgivable by Cristina Campo

Dante's memory runs through Cristina Campo's writing as an inescapable subtext, which is activated by explicit references, by a widespread and shared imagery and by punctual lexical takes. The contribution stems from the desire to investigate the Dantesque presence in the writer's prose: thanks to the Dante Vocabulary, a lexicographic tool that, in the light of the most modern acquisitions in philology and linguistics and the most recent tools of analysis, allows for an in-depth analysis of the lexicon of the Comedy, the presence in The Unforgivable of Dante's vocabulary, especially related to the divine dimension, and of explicit takes that powerfully manifest their own valence, confirming that Dante's memory is one of the most important models of this writing, is investigated.
