摘要
Alopecia is a common problem affecting men and women, and it can cause significant detrimental effects on quality of life. Androgenetic alopecia is the most common form, although hair loss can be multifactorial and may require broader medical workup to assess for underlying causes. Common FDA -approved medical therapies include finasteride and minoxidil, which can help to stabilize hair loss or even improve scalp coverage. Hair transplantation is a highly effective procedure in which healthy follicular units are used to restore the hair -bearing scalp in appropriately selected patients. Experience, sound surgical practice, and appropriate patient expectations are critical to ensure a successful outcome of a typically highly safe and powerful procedure.
