摘要
Seed germination is a complex trait regulated by multiple genes in rice. However, the regulators of riceseed germination have yet to be sufficiently determined. Here, a quantitative trait locus (QTL) for riceseed germination was identified in a genome-wide association study. The candidate geneJASMONATEZIM-DOMAIN5(OsJAZ5) of the QTL was verified that positively regulates seed germination.OsJAZ5regu-lation of seed germination involves anOsABI3-mediated abscisic acid pathway. Overexpression ofOsJAZ5facilitated seed germination. The application ofOsJAZ5might be useful for increasing seed germinationfor rice direct seeding.& Oacute;2024 Crop Science Society of China and Institute of Crop Science, CAAS.
