摘要
Since their beginnings, cardiac rehabilitation programs have not included muscular strength resistance training among the exercise modalities. The loss of muscle mass associated with aging and the decrease in the practice of physical exercise are associated with the prevalence of risk factors that favor the appearance or worsening o f cardiovascular diseases. The scientific community is increasingly advocating the incorporation of this type of training into rehabilitation and secondary prevention programs, for which it is necessary to reach a consensus on the criteria for the content of the exercises, the methodological and safety elements that allow its effective and safe practice.
