摘要
Green synthetic approach for the synthesis of Iron oxide (alpha-Fe2O3) nanoparticles were successfully carried out using Aspergillus oryzae culture mediated biogenic route. The synthesized nanoparticle was confirmed by structural and optical characterization with the help of hematite phase. The alpha-Fe2O3 nanoparticles show antimicrobial activity against bacterial strains Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and fungal strain Candida albicans. Under visible light, the alpha-Fe2O3 nanoparticles demonstrate remarkable antibacterial action, confirming their superior efficacy for photocatalytic remediation. The present study discloses that the alpha-Fe2O3 nanoparticles are efficient photocatalysts for 96 % degradation of basic fuchsin dye and highly active antimicrobial agent.
