摘要
Video game fairs in Spain are places intended for the promotion and acquisition of interactive devices and novelties and central spaces for showing the relevance of digital leisure in contemporary society. This article studies these events from a journalistic coverage perspective. Indeed, we analyzed the publications of Spanish media specialized in video games about the different editions of the Madrid Games Week fair through YouTube and its role in the consumption of interactive leisure. The research was carried out through a content analysis of the 103 videos created by the titles MeriStation, Hobby Consolas, Vandal and 3DJuegos throughout the seven editions of the fair (2013-2019). Colloquiality and infotainment are strategies used to disseminate mainly the large companies in the sector as they are the ones with the most followers. Beyond its informative activity, the video game press contributes to creating a predisposition in the user to attend the event and guide them on which items are worth getting.
