Schwannoma of Palate in a Girl Child Mistaken for Salivary Gland Tumor: A Case Report

摘要：

Schwannomas are rare benign encapsulated perineural tumors. Although the head and neck region is the most common site, intraoral presence is only 1%. Tongue is the most common intraoral site and the palatal schwannoma is a very rare intity. We report a very rare case of hard-palate schwannoma in an 11-year-old girl showing bony expansion resulting in superior spherical ballooning of right posterior hard palate. The tumor was excised completely. After 3 months, the defect was found to be completely covered with palatal mucosa. There was no recurrence found upto 2 years of follow-up.
