摘要
The weigh-in-motion system can effectively support weight controls and traffic management by providing real-time traffic data. This paper presents a novel weigh-in-motion system for traffic loads using F-P cavity fiber optical technology. The system monitors traffic loads by measuring the center wavelength changes of the embedded F-P Cavity tunable filter and estimate the weight of vehicles because of the system transfer function between the dynamic loading on the system and the wavelength variation. Testing in the field validated that the weighing accuracy for moving vehicles is 93.1%. The system also has the capability to estimate the axle number and the location of the loading position. The precision reaches 97.1% and 300mm, respectively. The results show that the proposed system is of adequate accuracy and turns out to furnish a good solution for weighing vehicles in motion.
