Cretaceous to Paleogene magmatism and mineralization in the Sikhote-Alin Range (Russian Far East): implications for the redox-driven metallogenic zonation of Circum-Pacific orogens

摘要
Cretaceous to Paleogene magmatic rocks of the Sikhote-Alin Orogenic Belt (SAOB) are sub-divided into reduced ilmenite and oxidized magnetite series. Ilmenite granitoids and volcanics form a 1000 km-long zone along the Sea of Japan coastline enveloped by the magnetite-series rocks. Ilmenite-series formations host Sn-W mineralization, while magnetite-series rocks are associated with Cu-Au-Ag-Mo porphyry and epithermal deposits. The distribution of ilmenite- and magnetite-series and related mineralization in the SAOB is driven by the redox regime in the sub-continental lithosphere controlled by diverse fluid sources as well as geodynamic parameters of the Cretaceous-Paleogene subduction zone.
