Information on the breeding of scorpions in captivity is scarce, so the procedure for keeping these arthropods in captivity is not properly known. This research seeks to know the effect of varying food types and food frequencies in Tityus asthenes. Five types of food consisting of live insects and four different feeding frequencies were used. The result shows that a mixed insect diet and one made up exclusively of the cockroach Shelfordella lateralis, in addition to frequencies of one and twice a week generate greater growth and weight in the scorpions evaluated.
