摘要
: Prison writing provides a real and conceptual space through which it is to reflect on an of of life in the contents of the texts, these sources allow for the problematization of the conditions in which they were produced and on the institutional practices that enabled the emergence of these archives. The research I present here lists and analyzes the textual productions of common prisoners in collections from different countries in the Americas and Europe. In order to present some initial results, I intend to focus in this article on Brazilian collections and written production in the twentieth century. The texts are being chosen because of the perspectives they offer on two key questions: How were prisoners' textual productions understood and used by prison institutions? How can prison writing be understood as a contradictory and complex counterdiscourse, which seeks to protest and/or denounce the abuses suffered in prison, but which in some cases corroborates institutional practices and criminological theories? To do this, I will analyze the case of Oscar and the nations linked to homosexual in incited his writings.
