摘要
The study aims to identify the product innovations developed by the investigated companies and the behaviors and skills that supported the development of the product innovation capacity (PIC). It is an exploratory and descriptive empirical research carried out through the study of multiple cases in 21 technology-based companies (EBTs) in Rio Grande do Sul. Data were analyzed through content analysis. The results showed that the development of CIP occurred through behaviors and skills, such as creative ability, ability to innovate proactively, agility in innovating, market orientation ability, ability to identify market opportunities, and flexibility. These behaviors and skills supported the development of the various identified product innovations. Thus, it was concluded that CIP is significant for the success of EBTs and that by knowing such behaviors and skills, managers and other actors can apply them within their organizations, making them more competitive.
