The vibration of UHV shunt reactors is large because of its structural characteristics, which will seriously affect the surrounding environment of the substation and the reliable operation of equipment. In this paper, the core vibration of UHV shunt reactor was analyzed. The finite element method was used to simulate the electromagnetic force and the vibration of the reactor core, and results were verified by the core vibration test with optical fiber sensor. The distribution of electromagnetic force at different positions of the core was studied, and the relationship between the excitation voltage and the core vibration acceleration was obtained. The effect of the material of the air-gap spacers on the core was analyzed, and the results showed that the selection of the material with higher stiffness could improve the natural frequency of the core and reduce the vibration. The vibration control method of reactor core and its effect on the total cost were discussed. This paper can provide reference for vibration source control and optimization design of UHV shunt reactor. © 2022, Electrical Technology Press Co. Ltd. All right reserved.
